Accounts & Audit
We will help you fulfil your legal responsibilities and also save you time and work in preparing your accounts. We won’t just ‘do the books’ once a year; we can keep in contact as often as you want, and we’ll look at the figures and let you know how you can make savings in the future.
In a changing climate of cloud accounting and digital reporting, we’ll keep up to date with new technology so you don’t have to. We can advise you about the best systems to fit your needs, and make sure you have all the information you need at your fingertips.
If you have any questions about cloud accounting or HMRC initiatives such as Making Tax Digital, speak to one of our experts on 0161 476 9000.
Accounts Preparation
We will prepare your accounts accurately and to agreed timescales and deadlines, as well as preparing accounts to help in completion of self-assessment tax returns, producing financial statements to file at Companies House and abbreviated accounts to ensure the minimum amount of your financial information is made public.
But we can do more than just report the history of what’s already happened. We can…
- Identify areas where we can assist in minimising your tax liability
- Identify areas of the business that give you the most opportunity to make improvements
- Use the accounts to help you measure where you are in meeting your goals and what actions you need to take
Above all, we take the time to explain your accounts to you so that you understand what is going on financially within your business, helping you to plan for the future.

External Audit
You are probably already aware if your company needs a statutory audit, for instance if you are a PLC or a company or subsidiary of a company providing banking, insurance or finance services, if you are required by your governing body to have an audit, if you meet turnover or staffing criteria or if your shareholders require an audit of your accounts.
Even if you don’t legally need an audit, there are some good reasons to have them. An external audit gives an excellent overview of your business via a detailed review of your systems and controls. You can use the information for future and continuity planning and we can advise you of any areas for savings you may have missed. Detailed and clean audit reports may also raise the status of your company in the eyes of the taxman, banks and other lenders and suppliers, and can help should you wish to sell your business in the future.
If you’re unsure, we can advise you whether you need an external audit and save you money if you don’t.
