We have moved to cotton bags

Bennett Verby are proud to reveal the latest step in our bid to reduce the company’s environmental impact: swapping plastic bags for cotton carrier bags.

Although the advent of cloud accounting has meant a serious (and welcome!) decrease in the amount of paperwork we get through, we still find ourselves transporting books, bills and receipts to and from clients’ offices.

In a bid to reduce the number of plastic bags used by Bennett Verby and to tackle so-called ‘throwaway culture’, we have commissioned re-usable cotton tote bags for our staff and clients.

This step is the latest in our social responsibility initiative, which has so far focused on charitable giving, environmental and social concerns. Bennett Verby director Peter Gibbons commented:

“We are all trying our best to reduce our carbon footprint. Worldwide plastic pollution, especially in the oceans, is distressing to see and we’re glad to be playing some small part to help the environment.

Peter continued:

“Social engagement is vital for our company, whether the cause is large or small. We strive to contribute to our community by supporting local charities and businesses, and to make sure that future generations, both in Stockport and worldwide, have the opportunity to thrive.”
